Ronan Phelan is a recording and mixing engineer based in London.
In 2007, Ronan left his native Ireland and joined Sphere Studios in London. Starting with Queen, Ronan quickly went on to become the in-house engineer and worked with some the biggest acts in music including Adele, The Script, Mark Ronson, The Pixies, James Bond : Skyfall (Thomas Newman), Rudimental, Ed Sheeran, Duran Duran and Wave Machines amongst others.
In 2014, Ronan joined Angel Studios, where he worked on numerous film and television projects such as Terminator Genisys (Lorne Balfe/Hans Zimmer), Downton Abbey (John Lunn), Poldark (Anne Dudley), Wolf Hall (Debbie Wiseman), The Night Manager (Victor Reyes), Open Season (Rupert Greyson-Williams) and Michael Nyman, while also engineering for musical artists Dame Shirley Bassey and Chilly Gonzales.
Since leaving Angel Studios, Ronan has continued to work with clients across both the music and film and TV world including Rod Temperton, U2, Paul Epworth, Jamie Cullum, Paloma Faith, Alexis Ffrench, George Fenton, Rachel Portman, Doctor Who, Paddington Bear 2, as well his work alongside pioneering producer Alex ‘LEXXX’ Dromgoole on projects for Jessie Ware, Nao, Mura Masa, Rosie Lowe, Sohn, Hayden Thorpe (Wild Beasts).
Ronan's experience in the industry enables him to be incredibly versatile and adept at recording and mixing across a vast array of musical genres and production styles.
